My Account & Blogs
1.How do I edit my blog?Your blogs are listed on your My Blogs page. To write entries in a blog or make other changes, click the title of the blog. You will be taken to the blog manager, from which you can write entries, change settings, etc. If you have no blogs, you can click the "Create New Blog" button on your My Blogs page to create a new one, unless you already have the maximum number of blogs allowed.
2.How do I change my password? To change your password, visit your Edit Profile page. You will find a link at the bottom of the page which will allow you to change your password.
3.How do I upload images and other files? If uploads are allowed, you can upload images and other files from your Photos & Files page.
4.How do I send messages to other users? If you are allowed to send messages, you can check your inbox by visiting your Messages page. You will find a button on this page which allows you to send messages to other users.
5.How do I search for other users? If searching is allowed, you can search for users by visiting the Search page. Fill out any fields you would like to use in your search and submit the form. You will be taken to a results page containing any users who matched the information you provided.
6.How do I upload an image directly into an entry? While you are writing an entry, click on the small image button just above the entry content field. This will popup a small window which gives you the choice of specifying a URL for your image, or uploading it from your computer's hard drive.
7.What are membership invitations? If you have received a membership invitiation (visible on your My Blogs page), you are being invited to be a co-author on someone else's blog. If you accept, their blog will be added to your list of blogs. If the inviter makes you an admin, you will have full access to modify the blog. Otherwise, you will only be able to write entries.
8.What are entry categories? If you want to file your entries in different categories (for example, Sports, News, Personal, Politics, etc.), you can create these categories from the Entry Categories page under the Entries tab. After creating categories, you can select one each time you write a new entry.
9.What are pings? If you want to get more visitors to your blog, you can send pings to some of the major blog trackers from the Send Pings page under the Entries tab. This will make your blog URL show up on the websites of these blog trackers, possibly increasing your blog's visibility.
My Profile
1.What are "friends" and how do I add them?"Friends" are other weblog authors who you know or like to associate with. If you have the ability to write private entries, you have the option to set their privacy level to "friends only", which means that only users you have specified on your "Manage Friends" page will be able to view them.
To add or delete friends, visit the Manage Friends page. Your list of friends will be displayed on your profile, unless you have turned this off.
2.What is an avatar? How do I add one?An avatar is a small image or icon that you can display on your profile. On some weblogs, your avatar might also be displayed if you post a comment.
Avatars are optional. If you want to specify one, click on the "Profile" link on your control panel menu. You will see the Upload New Avatar option at the top of the page.
3.What do I use for a "brief description"?The "Brief Description" field on your profile is provided so that you can give a short summary of what your weblog is about, why you are writing in it, etc. This will be displayed on your user profile, and depending on your template, in your weblog.
4.What is my IM Screenname? If you use an instant messager program like AIM, MSN Messenger, Yahoo!, or ICQ, you have an IM Screenname. This is the name of your instant messager account. If you want to show this on your profile, enter your IM Screenname into the field on your Profile page.
Blog Templates
1.What does my template do? How do I change it?Your weblog template, a combination of HTML and weblog variables, is used to show the entries you have written in a visually attractive and legible way.
To pick a new template, visit the Choose New Template page under the Template tab. Here you can pick from several pre-written templates to use for your weblog.
If you are using one of the pre-written templates, no changes are necessary for your weblog to display correctly. However, if you want to make custom changes, you will need to edit your template:
To edit your current template, click the Template tab. On this page, you will see a large text box that contains your template code. Here, you can make custom changes to your current template. If you need help with weblog variables, visit the template guide.
2.How do I use weblog variables?Weblog variables are a very important part of your template - they are used to display all of your written content. For more information on using weblog variables, and for a list of variables that you can use, visit the weblog template guide.
